Watch: Chaga Date Brownies
Chaga Date Brownies
These scrumptious brownies are gluten-free, dairy-free, and chocolate-free. Instead of cocoa, chaga powder brings the richness and color to the brownies. These brownies are also sweetened with natural healing sugars, including dates, applesauce, and maple syrup. You can make these low in fat by using the almond milk or fat-free by using water.
This incredible wild food also strengthens red blood cells and bone barrow, balances blood platelets, and staves off cytokine storms, which are the result of the body overreacting to a pathogen or toxin.
Dates help restore peristaltic function in the intestines, retraining the intestinal tract after paralysis or dysfunction to move properly and expel any rotting food.
Chaga Date Brownies
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups gluten-free rolled oats
- 1/2 tsp aluminium-free baking powder
- 2 tbsp chaga powder
- 1 tsp vanilla powder
- 1 1/2 cups tightly packed pitted fresh Medjool dates
- 2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk or water
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
Banana ice cream (optional):
- 3-4 frozen bananas
- 2-3 tbsp water, orange juice or unsweetened almond milk
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper.
In a blender, combine the oats, baking powder, chaga powder, and vanilla. Blend the ingredients until they form a fine flour-like consistency. Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl.
In the same blender, add the pitted dates, almond milk (or water), applesauce, and maple syrup. Blend until smooth. Pour the mixture into the mixing bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until evenly combined. This will be your batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
Bake for 22-25 minutes, or until the top of the brownies looks set. Once done, remove the baking dish from the oven and place it on a cooling rack to cool completely.
While the brownies are cooling, you can prepare the banana ice cream. In a food processor or blender, combine the frozen bananas and your choice of liquid (water, orange juice, or unsweetened almond milk). Blend the mixture until it reaches a smooth consistency, scraping down the sides as needed. Adjust the liquid as necessary to achieve the desired texture.
Serve the brownies with the banana ice cream immediately, or for a firmer consistency, freeze the banana ice cream before serving.
